Accuracy in production means greater machining efficiency with enhanced process safety. HEIDENHAIN underscores this statement in many ways at this year's EMO in Milan: with live presentations of the latest TNC 640 control and inspired demonstrations of high-precision position measuring with linear and angle encoders in closed-loop control systems.
HEIDENHAIN will hold live demonstrations with the TNC 640 control at its booth, showcasing its numerous functions for improved efficiency and greater accuracy. These include in particular optimized motion control for short machining times combined with perfect workpiece surface quality with very high workpiece accuracy. Under the name of Dynamic Precision HEIDENHAIN unites functions for the efficient manufacture of precision components. They enable fast, vibration-free milling thanks to active vibration damping (AVD) among other features. Dynamic Efficiency designates functions for efficient heavy machining. They reduce machine chatter through Active Chatter Control (ACC) and increase the metal removal rate with trochoidal milling and Adaptive Feed Control (AFC).
The finely detailed 3-D simulation graphics of the TNC 640 permit a realistic simulation of machining programs—whether created at the machine or generated externally. The informative machining preview feature permits a pre-evaluation of the program for missing information, problematic machining processes and poor surfaces. Thanks to the 3-D simulation graphics, the machine operator can detect errors in the NC program and chances for optimization before he even begins machining.
Two other presentations at the HEIDENHAIN booth will show the enormous importance of high-precision position measuring with linear and angle encoders in closed-loop control systems. It ensures constantly accurate workpieces and strict compliance with tolerances by compensating thermal fluctuations in the power train, for example.
